Poi at 2007
Burning Man
The art featured here is wire sculpture which is then adorned with electroluminescent (EL or
CoolNeon) wire. Also the EL wire can be attached to clothing and accessories--like the coat
and the hat. I started working with this medium in 1999 after going to burning man and seeing it for
the first time. Now it is extremely popular in the desert festival. There are many more works still
in the development stage. And there are pieces that I have not added to this site yet. I have
carried out one commission so far. It is Debbie's dragonfly.
Fire poi is a performance art form from the Mowry in New Zealand. This performance art is
filled with light, sound, and motion--a perfect fit for the light art gallery. I have been spinning since
1999. Sean Brennan made some practice poi out of some socks and twine. We proceeded to
bash ourselves multiple times before learning the basics. In October 2002 I spun fire for the first
time on top of Stacey and Brian's apartment in San Francisco. The picture on the site is my
first burn. Subsequent fire pictures are from local performances at various art galleries. For

The Talwar Twins--My children are the best thing that has ever happened to me. Through this
site friends and relatives all over the world can see pictures of my twins. I have been updating this
site as I have been taking more pictures.
